Background:
According to China regulation, new ingredient for cosmetics must be approved in prior to its usage in China. While in the past, even for the time-being, there is no clear definition or reference on what is NEW cosmetics for China.
This is being changed.
China SFDA is working to compile an Inventory of ‘Existing Cosmetic Ingredient in China (IECIC)’. On 1 July 2012, China SFDA published the second batch of the Inventory of Existing Cosmetic Ingredient in China (IECIC) for public comments. The first batch of was revised on 1 May 2012 and includes 1674 cosmetic ingredients.
